"I have been volunteering as a physician since the late 1970s in over a dozen developing countries around the globe. I have worked with many of the leading organizations including CARE, Americares, Health Volunteers Overseas, and Medicins San Frontieres. Health In Harmony and particularly the Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI) clinic is clearly one of the most effective and well run organizations providing opportunities for physicians trained in the US to work in a rural underserved developing country setting. A highly skilled team has established ASRI as an efficient and effective organization with approximately 80 devoted and competent staff. With strong ties to Yale, Stanford and Dartmouth, it is an ideal rotation for a medical student, resident or attending. I look forward to returning as soon as my schedule permits."

300 Volunteering may be its own reward, but its impact is great

Health In Harmony recruits volunteer medical practitioners and conservation professionals for field work with Project ASRI in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Each year, more than 20 volunteers spend time working and learning alongside their Indonesian counterparts.
